CPU usage + Explorer.exe
Permalink
WindowZones version 1.01.52 TRIAL
Windows XP Pro 5.1.2600 Service Pack 2600
Installed trial today. CPU usage hits 100% repeatedly since installation.
WZ .exe seems to be the culpit (not WZ .sys) - CPU usage fluctuates actively from 2-45 (according to Windows Task Manager).
There seems to be a correlation with Explorer.exe as well - it's CPU usage jumps markedly when WZ in running (returns to normal once WZ is exited).
The combonation is deadly and brings my entire system to a crawl.
I exited then re-opened WZ three (3) times to check this report - got the same results everytime the program runs. Exiting stops the problem.
Any ideas? I like the idea of this program and am willing to convert to a licensed user if it works. But WZ appears to hog CPU resources. Any advice?
Charles
ADDENDUM the main window will not open, neither from the system tray nor the start menu. It worked for the initial set-up, but not since.
