Windows Zones Doesn't Open

I try to open windows zones in my tray (lower right corner of screen) and it doesn't open. I then click on the shortcut on my desktop, it shows the hourglass and sits for a second and doesn't open.  But when I go onto the internet it shows the message " ______ was moved to the safe zone."

However if I close the program it works fine.

How bizzare.

I am in my trial period and if I have this kind of problem already, I wonder what problems I wil have later?

I run windows XP, and the following other programs;

anti-virus; Avast version 4.7 home edition & AVG.

Spyware; Webroot Spysweeper, Ad-Aware 2007 & Spyware Blaster.

Other Programs; Webroot Window Washer.

What should I do about my problem?  Any advice.

Hi Stecris,

did you by any chance put WindowZones in the Safe Zone by rule? I've seen a report of similar behavior when that was the case.

thanks,

-Allen

sorry to piecemeal you on this. Can you tell me what browser you are using? If you move any other applications to the Safe Zone, do their names also not show up (eg "______ has been moved to the Safe Zone" rather than "Outlook.exe has been moved to the Safe Zone."

thanks,

-Allen

yes, it does. It shows as _______.exe moved to the safe zone.

Obviously there is a problem. What I guess I will have to do is unistall and reinstall, something I was trying to avoid. If it does it after the new install, I will delete and forget about it. I will take that as a sign that I shouldn't get this program.

Thanks. We can't seem to build a repro for it. If it continues, let me know and maybe I can give you a call and we can try to dig into it further.
